Excursion to the Pierre Auger Observatory in Malargue, Argentina is on Saturday, May 21, 2005.

The Pierre Auger Observatory is in Malargüe, Argentina, about 500 km south of Mendoza. This is a full day excursion, leaving very early in the morning and returning at night. Pierre Auger is a high-energy cosmic-ray observatory designed to gather data from the magnetic fields of energetic particles around the universe in hopes of gaining insight into their origins.
This would include a welcome information session with audiovisual, a visit to the facilities (assembly plant of tanks and
stations, the data-acquisition center and the visitor´s centre), a tour to some of the tanks, and to one of the fluorescence station

Dinner will follow at a typical Argentinean restaurant ("Parrilla").
They offer all kinds of barbecued meat including the very well known "asado".
Salad and vegetable plates are an option for vegetarians. Wine is included, as well as some "empanadas"
and other appetizers to eat before the meal.
